I Can't Believe I'm Doing This...
Posted on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 11:53am by James Jago
At the combined urgings of just about everyone (I knew I was beaten when they got Cherry on their side), as many of my early Dangerverse stories as I'm brave enough to re-read are being posted here. I shall attempt to cobble them into some sort of order as well, so stay tuned.

It's been pointed out that by sticking to 'Mature' rather than 'Adults Only', I have left Lions and Serpents accessible to all, regardless of their actual age. Well, so be it. It's not like you can't purchase equally racy stuff in paperback. Just don't expect any sympathy from me if your mother catches you reading it and goes ballistic.

Only One Of Mine Posted

Well, here it is, ladies and gents. The one you've all been waiting for!
Oh, and please remember that this is not all my work; it was Anne's idea and co-written by both of us. She's getting courtesy copies of everything you review as well, so don't do what Starry just did...

Lions and Serpents Posted
Posted on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 5:06am by James Jago
Well, the first part of the Wyvern Chronicles is up and running. Apologies if the formatting is a little messy, and please note that altering your preferences for viewing thought-speech will not affect this story for the time being; my knowledge of HTML is rudimentary at best, and Josh hasn't finished optimising the code yet, so I'm staying clear of anything complicated for now. I would however like to say a quick thank-you to our resident computer whizz for endeavouring to assist me in getting the first part to translate into something close to how I wrote it on the page. I infinitely prefer indents, section and line breaks to the conventional web format, and unlike the thought-speech issue this has a direct effect on the comprehensibility of the story. Josh is adding some different viewing options so you can have it that way if you prefer, but until then you're just going to have to live with my way of doing things.
Oh, and I've someone suggest that LaS ought to be Adults Only instead of Mature, but I'm using Shortbus and 9 Songs as my preccedent and keeping things as they are.

Hi guys. I'm James Jago, better known as Jamie despite my half-hearted protests. Most of you will probably know me from Anne's Yahoo! Group, but for those of you who don't, I suppose I'd better warn you of a few things. This is Dangerverse fanfic like you won't have read anywhere else. It's not even strictly a Dangerverse AU; in fact, it's a fusion of elements from DV canon, my own HP story arc and some stuff Anne and I developed between us in our joint writing projects that can be found on the LwD group. It is not pitched at the same broad demographic as the Dangerverse; in the first part alone there will be a number of themes and passages that are for mature audiences only. I can't stop you kids in the audience lying about your date of birth and reading it anyway, but don't expect any sympathy from me if the experience leaves you permanently traumatised (unlikely) or you get a chewing out from your parents (rather less unlikely). Lions and Serpents is intended as the first of at least seven volumes. Pairings may well veer away from DV canon as things develop, but that's very much up in the air at the moment. For the purposes of this story arc, since there is conflicting evidence in the text of the original books as to when exactly they are set (and if it's not specified in the books then I don't regard it as canon), Harry was born in the mid-to-late 1980s when his parents were about 25.
Okay, I think I've covered everything. The first instalment should hopefully reach the archives in the next couple of days. I hope you enjoy it.
